Who is cutting
Three generations of one family across four chairs.
-
Chair 1 Ramón Salcedo
Founder · Master barber
Opened the shop in 1978 and still takes the first chair three days a week. Classic scissor work, flat tops, and every straight-razor shave he can get his hands on.
-
Chair 2 Luis Salcedo
Owner · Master barber
Has run the shop since 2009. Fades, tapers and gray blending, and the person to see if you have had a cut somewhere else that needs fixing.
-
Chair 3 Marisol Salcedo
Barber · Shop manager
Luis's daughter. Curly and textured hair, kids who are frightened of the clippers, and the only person who can find anything in this building.
-
Chair 4 Danny Ortega
Barber
Ramón's grandson through his daughter. Skin fades, hard parts, and freehand designs. Books out about two weeks ahead on Saturdays.
“My dad got his hair cut here and now my son does. Don Ramón shaved me before my wedding and I have not let anyone else near my neck since. Prices have gone up eight dollars in twenty years.”
